What We Believe

WHAT WE BELIEVE

  • We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and our sole authority for faith and practice.
  • We believe the criterion by which the Bible is to be interpreted is Jesus Christ. We believe in the unity and trinity of God, eternally existing as three equal persons Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • We believe in the full deity and humanity of Jesus Christ.
  • We believe in the sinfulness of all persons. One result of sin is shattered relationships with God, self, and others. We believe that eternal salvation and restored relationships are uniquely possible through faith in Jesus Christ who died for us, was raised by God from the dead, and is coming again. This salvation is offered to all people.
  • We believe in the work of the Holy Spirit in salvation and in the renewing presence and power of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer and the church. We believe in equality and essential dignity of men and women of all races, ages, classes, recognizing that all are made in the image of God. We believe both men and women are divinely gifted and called to develop and use their God-given gifts for the good of the church, home, and society.

Baptism:

Baptism is a sign of your faith that you have repented of your past sin, accepted Jesus as your personal Savior, and have begun a new life as a believer.  "Jesus said, "Go then to all people everywhere and make them my disciples, baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and then teach them to obey everything I have commanded you.'"  Matthew 28:19-20.   "We know that we have come to Him, if we obey His commands." 1 John 2:3
